It is our money being spent. The rates and fees that we, as ratepayers, pay to council constitute the majority contribution that funds council activities, services and finances.
As such it is not unrealistic to expect those ratepayers to demand the right to know where, how and to what level that money is being spent before it is spent.
As major financial contributors, it is not unexpected that the ratepayers demand transparency and accountability to be an integral part of council delivery of activities, services and finances. It is not unexpected that the ratepayers demand a level of consultation regarding the delivery of those activities, services and finances in a timely manner from council.
Our aim is to keep the ratepayers and communities informed so that all concerned are not misrepresented.
